  1. I had a hard time understanding the conversation. I recently joined and I want you to know I have been involved with this issue for over 30 years. We have gone to the Louisiana Supreme court and lose. We lose because we weren’t prepared. With this being said be sure that you are prepared and that we have enough citizens behind us to get this fixed. Also remember the two biggest and most powerful groups you will fight will number 1-The Louisiana Land Owners Coalition, and 2 The Louisiana Trail Lawyers Association.
Also keep in mind the oil related activity in our wetlands is the number one reason for most of this mess. If you could picture the wetlands without any oil related canals or pipelines or wellheads both above the waterline and below the water line. No debris which could injure someone. Well this would the same picture as the Florida Everglades. No oilfield activity in the Everglades and no restricted access either. So the main culprit is the oilfield related activity and all of the liability that goes with it.
I am a wetlands land manager and I am with you all the way, and I can tell you this, all of my land owners couldn’t care less about people fishing on their properties but they do care about the liability. And of course so do the lawyers!
So before this can be fixed the liability issue needs to be fixed plain and simple!

    1. If you have been involved in this that long we would like to here some of the ups and downs that you faced on this issue. This time we are trying to be prepared and organized to win this once and for all. We have said from the start Liability is a issued in this and we want to protect them of the liability. We know this is a long hard road but its the right road we have to fight. If not fishing will be a thing of the past for most people of this state. You can contact me anytime if you would like to talk about what ya’ll did and how it needs to be done different and make sure we don’t go down the same road.

  2. You being a wetlands land manager…..you have a lot of knowledge of the legal processes we will be faced with. Welcome to our group, and please to not hesitate to offer your opinion and knowledge.

  3. After fishing near Point aux chene the last two days, and observing posted/no trespassing signs throughout the marsh, I was told by two fisherman that I was in restricted water and needed to leave. I am from Texas and saltwater inundated areas are all considered public domain. Louisiana needs something like the Louisiana Sportsman’s Coalition to bring people together to fight to insure that anglers are not restricted from fishing water that should be open to all. Class action lawsuit comes to mind.

  4. Sorry I haven’t got back ,but I have been trying to get information from this task force. What are you giving away to get this done? We want to know what going on. What is the status
    of these task force meetings.
